Big Style in a Small Footprint: A Main Floor Makeover with Purpose

When life took an unexpected turn, this family knew it was time to turn their modest builder-grade bungalow into the home they had always envisioned. With limited square footage, the challenge was clear—but through smart planning and creative design, we transformed their main floor into a space that feels open, functional, and entirely custom.

By rethinking the layout and introducing tailored solutions like built-in cabinetry, we made every inch count. In the kitchen, we increased usable space by relocating two closets—one of which became a beautifully integrated built-in in the dining room. This strategic move not only expanded the kitchen’s footprint and counter space, but also created a more open, welcoming atmosphere.

We didn’t stop there. By moving the pantry into the dining area, we had the opportunity to craft a custom built-in bench with hidden storage—a stylish and practical upgrade that improved flow and allowed the dining table to shift, creating more room to move and gather.

With clients who trusted the process and were open to bold changes, we were able to reimagine this small bungalow into a personalized, high-functioning home that lives large in every way.
